With over 25 years of karting experience at all levels, we feel the best way to promote this sport we love and to create new energy for kart racing is by getting you in the seat. We have more experience in the field of karting than any other team in British Columbia and specialize in developing new racers from the first step and carrying them right through to wherever their aspirations may take them.
Intro To Karting:
This is the one that put the RaceLab on the map and started so many of BC’s top racers. This is for those who are interested in trying out a short session in a kart while receiving some instruction and education on the sport from a karting professional who knows the ins & outs like no other.
We supply: A LO206 Powered kart (11HP), racing gear (Suit, helmet, gloves) track pass, instruction and 20 laps around Greg Moore Raceway (approx 30ms track time)
This is great way to get started and see if karting is right for you!
This is our program designed for drivers between the ages of 8-11 who are interested in joining the sport of karting but would like the chance to give it a try first. The program is run on select weekend dates throughout the year. Your little driver will be given some beginner instruction on driving, safety and how the kart works. Then we will work to teach the very basics including: Starting and stopping, and once they are ready we will take to the track to complete some laps on Greg Moore Raceway in a junior Minikart with a restricted Rotax engine. The best part is if you choose to purchase a RaceLab kart afterwards we will credit you the cost of the program towards the kart!
Program Length: Approx: 2 Hours
RaceNow @ GMR
This is a full arrive and drive race event run in conjunction with the West Coast Kart Club at Greg Moore Raceway. For those who want to jump into the action and see what a race day looks like out there the RaceNow offers an unmatched value. You will race alongside the RaceLab team on one of our race team prepped LO206 powered karts at a sanctioned race event against racers of all abilities. The Lab supplies the kart, race wear, entry fee and some track side assistance and you supply the talent. You will be greeted by the team in the morning, when you will get setup with your kart and equipment, then take part in the morning drivers meeting where the race director will explain the days events. From there you will take to the track for a practice session or two (*at organizer’s discretion) where you will try to get the feel of the machine before you take part in the Pre Final heat race and then Final race event (20LAPS). This event typically runs until the late afternoon so you will have lots of time to ask questions you may have about karting and to meet some great people out at the track.
Small Group Programs
You have a small group (up to 12) of racers who want to hit the track together. We have programs for you. We can accommodate you by supplying some karts, and showing you the way around GMR for a couple of hours. This is a great way to enjoy our sport without having to be a part of a racing atmosphere and while you’re at it, improve your race driving skills.
